Bayou Classic to determine A&M’s SWAC Championship game opponent

NORMAL – The 38th annual meeting of HBCU rivals Grambling State University and Southern University will determine Alabama A&M’s opponent in the 2011 Farmer’s Southwestern Athletic Conference championship game.

If Grambling wins then a repeat of the 2000, 2002 and 2005 championship game will take place. In three league title games the Bulldogs are 0-3 versus the Tigers.

If Southern pulls off the upset then Alabama A&M will face the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The Maroon & White won their lone conference title over the Golden Lions in 2006 22-13.

Tickets are available for the December 10, contest by calling 1-800-240-2300 from 8:00 a.m. – 4 p.m. CST Monday-Friday. Ages 2 & above need a ticket for admission. All seats are general admission, first-come first-served.
