NORMAL - -With the release of the 2011 Alabama A&M football schedule, Director of Athletics Betty Austin is urging Bulldog fans to purchase their tickets and make travel accommodations early this year.
This season the Bulldogs will open the 2011 season with the Pirates of Hampton University in the 14th Annual Chicago Classic in historic Solider Field. The official host hotel for the Alabama A&M University Bulldogs has been designated as the Chicago Marriott Magnificent Mile and rooms are still available for the September 3rd opener.
The kickoff for the next century of Bulldog Football begins by honoring the legendary former football coach, Louis Crews with the Second Annual Louis Crews Classic on Saturday, September 17, at 6 p.m. A renewed rivalry will be featured in the annual event as the Bulldogs will host the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University.
Maroon & White fans this year the weather will be cooler for Homecoming 2011 on Oct. 8, so all A&M alumni can take part in one of the biggest events on “The Hill”.
Also, Bulldog fans come pack the stands in the on Thursday, September 13, as the Bulldogs will take on the Tigers of Texas Southern University live on ESPNU, at 6:30 p.m.
The 70th annual Magic City Classic falls on Oct. 29. That is also the same weekend as NASCAR at Talladega, so hotel rooms in Birmingham will be scarce as the date gets closer.
