3rd Annual Louis Crews Classic moves to Grambling contest; A&M chosen 7th in the Boxtorow HBCU Preseason Poll

NORMAL – Due to construction at Louis Crews stadium the 3rd annual Louis Crews Classic contest has been moved to the second home football game of the year versus Grambling State University scheduled for Saturday, September 29, at 6 p.m.

Historically the classic has been the first home game for Alabama A&M with the second contest serving as the Hall of Fame game.  Both events will continue to take place as the 2012 edition of the AAMU Sports Hall of Fame inductees will be recognized as well as the all-time winningest coach in Bulldog football history.

Single and season game tickets are available by calling 256-372-4059 or by visiting ticketmaster.com

Bulldogs chosen Seventh in FCS HBCU Poll

The Alabama A&M football team was selected seventh in the Boxtorow FCS HBCU Coaches Preseason Poll for the 2012 season.

Back in July during the Southwestern Athletic Conference Media Days the Bulldogs were selected third behind Jackson State and Alabama State.

“We appreciate those who voted for us,” said head coach Anthony Jones.  “Our goal always is to be the best.  It’s a starting point for us and we’ll see if we can climb a little higher.

The MEAC, whose teams have finished No. 1 in the previous three polls, has five teams represented in the top 10.

The SWAC has four teams represented, while Tennessee State represents the OVC.
