The Louis Crews Classic

Normal-The opening events of the 3^rd Annual Louis Crews Classic week came and went without a hitch.

However, the celebration is not over as there are four remaining events prior to the 3^rd annual Louis Crews Classic football game.

On Friday, September 28^th will see “The Hill Project 2014 & 2016”. This event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 2:30 p.m. The program includes breakfast and lunch on a college campus, along with a legacy project, tour of the campus, and two information sessions geared to inspiring high school students about their futures. The first 100 students to show up from Butler will receive a free student ticket courtesy of Royal Funeral Home.

The second event on Friday will be the “Hall of Fame Banquet”. The annual celebration will recognize this year’s 22 inductees and will be held at the Ernest L. Knight Center and begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $40.00 and available by calling 256-372-5654.

On Saturday, September 29^th, the day will feature the “Returning Crews Player Reception” at the Knight Center at 2 p.m. the Bulldog Walk at 3 p.m. which is a tradition where Bulldog football players and coaches walk to the George Hobson field house greeting fans before taking the field.

The festive, celebratory week will end with A&M hosting the Tigers of Grambling State University in the 3^rd annual Louis Crews Classic. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
