Alabama A&M moves up to No. 2 in national poll

Undefeated Alabama A&M moved up to No. 2 in the most recent Boxtorow HBCU Football Media poll.
After its 42-13 shellacking of Texas Southern on the road in Week 4, Alabama A&M moved up a spot to No. 2 in the most recent Boxtorow HBCU Football Top 10 Media poll.

The Bulldogs, undefeated at 4-0, including a 3-0 record against Southwestern Athletic Conference competition, will entertain Grambling State Saturday in a game set to be aired on ESPNU at 6 p.m. The winless Tigers (0-3) are coming off a bye week.

Tennessee State (4-0) reigns atop the poll after downing previous No. 1 Bethune-Cookman (Fla.) 21-14 on its own field in a matchup which pitted the then No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams against each other. Tennessee State, also nicknamed the Tigers, received 15 of 20 first-place votes in the media poll, garnering the top spot for the first time since 2009.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff moved up to No. 5 after being ranked 10th the week before, following its 24-21 win on the road against Alabama State this past Thursday, a game in which the Golden Lions racked up 466 yards of offense.

Alabama State (2-2, 2-1) is ranked eighth. The Hornets travel to Alcorn State (1-3, 1-1)Miles (3-1, 1-0 in the Southern Intercollegiate Conference), the only Division II school in the top 10, at No. 9.
