Lobos Jump All Over Alabama A&M, 88-52

Albuquerque, New Mexico - Cameron Bartow scored 22 points and Alex Kirk pulled down 12 rebounds as the #23 ranked New Mexico took a 88-52 victory over Alabama A&M on Saturday night.

New Mexico pushed its lead to 10-0 before the Bulldogs finally scored with 16:46 remaining on a Brandon Ellis three pointer just as the shot clock expired.

Alabama adjusted a bit to UNM's talent, but still were no match for the Lobos in The Pit. New Mexico held a 31-11 lead at the 7:03 break. The Lobos were shooting 58.8 percent at that mark to 19 percent for A&M. The Bulldogs were one of 10 from behind the line early in the first half.

Jeremy Crutcher led A&M with 17 points on the night going 6 of 12 from the field, while making four of nine from behind the arc. All-SWAC selection Demarquelle Tabb finished the night with eight points and grabbed five rebounds, but was limited due to early foul trouble.

On the evening, A&M was held to 26.8 percent from the field. The Bulldogs went eight of 32 from three point range. The Lobos shot 58.5 percent from the field, shooting 66.7 percent in the second half.

The Lobos had four players in double figures that were paced by Bairstow's 22. Kendall Williams went four of four and seven of eight from the line to score 17 and Kirk finished with 16 points while Neal Cullen totaled 12.

Up next, a rivalry will be renewed, with The Mayor's Cup on the line. Alabama A&M and University of Alabama in Huntsville will play Thursday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center.
