Normal- The 2012-2013 indoor track season is coming to a close for the Bulldogs, as the apex of the season arrives this weekend with the 2013 Southwestern Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The season got off to a great start at the Birmingham Southern College Panther Ice Breaker. After the BSC hosted meet the Maroon and White visited Nashville, Tennessee and the TSU Gentry Complex twice. At the Ed Temple Classic, the programs had a solid showing with nine top 10 finishes and three top five finishes. In the men’s weight throw Gavin Burks (11.93m) and Joaquennsi Eugene (11.73m) took fourth and fifth place respectively. Senior Shaquina Phalo had the highest Bulldog finish of the meet, taking third place in the women’s 800 meter run with a time of 2:23.75.
