NORMAL -- The Alabama A&M Bulldogs’ basketball teams will battle their in-state rival the Alabama State Hornets on Saturday, Feb. 9th, in Montgomery, Alabama, in the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.
 
A&M enters the contest coming off a 59-48 thumping of the Lady Lions of the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Monday night.

The Maroon and White are 7-14 overall and 6-5 in the SWAC. For the second consecutive game, Jasmine Sanders led the team tallying her fourth double double of the year with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Shundray Davis and Brittney Strickland both finished with 10 points on the evening.
 
The Alabama State women's basketball team dropped a 53-48 decision to the Mississippi Valley State Devilettes on Monday evening. The Lady Hornets are 7-15 overall and 5-6 in the SWAC.

A&M is led by Sanders, who is currently ranked in three different statistical categories in the conference.
 
The Lady Hornets are led by Nakiya Smith with 10.7 points per contest and Quentori Alford who leads in rebounds averaging 9.2 boards.

Head Coach Altherias Warmley is just two wins away from her career win total of 150 at Alabama A&M. In her 11th year as A&M’s head coach, Warmley is 11-11 against Alabama State.
 
On Monday night the Bulldogs fell to UAPB 76-67. Jeremy Crutcher led all scorers with a season-high 21 while DeMarquelle Tabb had his fourth double-double in five games, scoring 16 points and snaring 10 rebounds. Justan Banks amassed 11 points and 10 boards.

With the loss the Bulldogs drops to 8-14 overall and 4-7 in the SWAC.
 
Phillip Crawford and Jamel Waters led Alabama State University to a 73-65 win over Mississippi Valley State University. ASU moves to 7-17 overall and 5-6 in conference action.

The Hornets are led by Joshua Freelove with 12.6 points per game and Stephawn Brown with 4.8 boards per contest.

Head men's basketball coach Willie Hayes is 1-2 against his in-state rival.
