Pro Day on “The Hill”

NORMAL – It was 47 degrees and the wind had a chill in the air but that didn’t stop 17 former Bulldogs from participating in Alabama A&M’s annual football pro day.

"Most of these guys' lifetime goal was to play in the NFL," said strength and conditioning coach James Hester. "They had an opportunity today to show what they could do."

Scouts representing the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks were on campus for Alabama A&M's "Pro Day."

The main lure was Jamaal Johnson-Webb, the offensive lineman who last month was the first player from A&M to participate in the NFL Combine in its division one era.
He was a good resource for his former teammates, to advise them what to expect in the drills and to encourage their work.

The players were timed in the 40-yard dash, ran cone drills, did 225-pound bench press reps, were tested in vertical leap, long jump and interviewed and were weighed and measured.

The players participating, were: RB Terrell Badie, LB Denzel Cotton, OL Joaquenssi Eugene, TE Bobby Goldsby, QB David Isabelle, RB Kaderius Lacey, DE Dee Lett, DB Vernon Marshall, DL Preston Nelson, DE Melvin Payne, LB Montay Rover, DL Tim Tillman, DB Joshua Udeh, OL Jamaal Johnson-Webb, DB Julius Wilson and K Chance Wilson.
