Softball Heads To Miles College

NORMAL -- The Alabama A&M University softball team will take a break from conference play and travel to Fairfield, AL to take on the Bears of Miles College, on Wednesday, April 3.

First pitch for the single game is scheduled for 3 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs own an 11-17 mark on the year, while the Bears hold a 21-12 record.

Alabama A&M visits MC after dropping two games against Jackson State, but split a double header with the Tigers winning, 6-5 on Friday.

As a unit, the Lady Bulldogs hit just .271 on the year, and the squad owns just 23 extra-base hits – all doubles and 11 homeruns.

Jasmine Riley leads the Lady Bulldogs with a team-high .431 batting average and 31 hits followed by Anisa Brit with her .423 batting average, and 21 RBIs. Five of Riley's 31 hits have gone for extra bases this season and three have gone out of the park.

Amanda Talley has notched nine of Miles victories from the circle with a 4.21 ERA this year in 14 appearances. Tally has pitched 72.0 innings, allowing 41 runs and tallying 36 strikeouts.

Receiving the most time in the circle has been Megan Gray who has a 6.65 ERA in 15 appearances – with 11 starts – while posting a 4-7 record.
