Husley named Freshman of the Year; Dodson named to Second team by Collegesportsmadness.com

NORMAL – The accolades for the A&M baseball team continue to pour in as freshman Austin Husley was named the Freshman of the Year in the Southwestern Athletic Conference by collegesportsmadness.com.
 
Husley was named freshman of the year and first-team after batting .313 in 48 contests. He posted 57 hits, 27 runs, 36 RBIs, 74 total bases, 10 doubles, two triples, a homerun and 13 stolen bases.  The Russellville, Alabama product finished the regular season third in RBIs in the league.
 
Sophomore Patrick Dodson was selected to the second team after leading the Bulldogs with a .330 batting average in 49 games played.  The Huntsville, Alabama native is ninth in batting and third in hits (63) in the conference.
 
“I'm extremely proud of them, they have been a rock for us throughout the season,” said head coach Michael Tompkins.  “They've worked hard this year and they deserve these accolades for their accomplishments.”
 
College Sports Madness has announced the 2012 - 2013 Madness Baseball SWAC All-Conference Teams. The staff at College Sports Madness has picked the nation's top college baseball players. These players have made significant contributions to their teams this past season.
