Jasmin Riley Name To First-Team All-SWAC

NORMAL, Ala. - Former Alabama A&M softball third baseman Jasmin Riley was named to the All-SWAC first team, voted by the conference's coaches and sports information departments.

The Ellenwood, Ga. native finished the season first on the team with a .410 batting average, 41 hits, and seven doubles.

Riley was ranked in the top 10 in several categories in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. She finished her career first in slugging percentage (.930), sixth in on base percentage (.509), seventh in hits (45), and seventh in total bases (73).

Riley was named to the SWAC All-Conference team, in each of her four years as a member of the Maroon and White softball squad. Riley, just recently graduated from A&M with a degree in political science.

At the beginning of the 2013 campaign, Riley was named to the College Sports Madness Pre-Season All-Conference and All-SWAC Preseason team.

“It was a great way to finish a stellar career and a well deserving honor,” stated head coach Nedra Brown.  “Jasmin has raw talent and it is good when other coaches in the league can recognize and honor her accomplishments with other great players,” commented Brown.
