Bulldogs' Leachman named SWAC co-Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, AL – Alabama A&M quarterback Chris Leachman was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference's co-Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week.

Leachman, a fifth-year senior who started the season No. 4 on the depth chart, made his first career start at Jackson State and led the Bulldogs to a 25-14 win. He completed 18-of-28 for 270 yards and three touchdowns.

He is sharing the honor with Arkansas-Pine Bluff's Willie Young. Against Mississippi Valley State, Young finished with 175 yards on 10 receptions with three touchdowns. He is the first Golden Lion receiver to record 10 receptions in a game since the 2010 season.

Leachman will be at quarterback again Saturday when the Bulldogs host Alcorn State for Military Appreciation Day. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
