A&M Track and Field Debuts their brand new track in their Intrasquad Meet

NORMAL - With 11 running events and eight field events of competition set, the Alabama A&M track and field team will debut their new track in its first intrasquad outdoor competition set for Tuesday, March 25, inside the newly renovated Louis Crews Stadium.

This will be the first of two opportunities for the home fans to see the teams in action on "The Hill". The Bulldog Preview will begin at 2:00 p.m.

This meet includes eight field events: hammer throw, discus, shot put, javelin, pole vault, high jump, long jump and triple jump.

Those events will take place at the A&M practice field while all running activities will be held at Louis Crews stadium.

The 11 running events on the schedule include: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m, 2,000m steeplechase, 5,000m, 110HH, 400IH, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay.

"We are excited to get started and have high goals for this season," head coach Kim Seals said. "The weather plays a factor now at all competitions: cold, hot; wet, dry; windy, calm. All of these elements play a factor in performance on that given day, so we have to be ready."

The meet is free and open to the public. Gates open at Louis Crews stadium at 1:00 pm.
