Hulsey Named SWAC Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alabama A&M's Austin Hulsey its SWAC Baseball Player of the Week for April 15.

Hulsey earned the top hitter accolade becoming the third player from AAMU's roster to receive the weekly award.

Hulsey helped Alabama A&M finish the week 4-1 including a three-game sweep over Jackson State on the weekend. He recorded a .409 batting average hitting 9-for-22 with three runs scored, a pair of doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI.

He opened the week hitting a two-run dinger in the Bulldogs' 9-7 win over North Alabama. Despite AAMU dropping its game the next day to Troy, Hulsey registered hits in all three appearances at the plate. He also added three RBI, a run scored and a home run.

For AAMU's rout over defending SWAC Tournament Champions, Jackson State, Hulsey went 5-for-14 with seven RBI and two doubles. He recorded a double in the 10th inning to drive in the game-winning run, capping the series sweep.
