The Merit Award is presented to a non-alumnus for a significant service to the university. Brown's nomination came from one of the local chapters, and she was selected from a pool of two other candidates by the Executive Committee. The award will be presented on Friday May 7 in the Ernest L. The  maroon and white also honored its two seniors Krissy Miles and Hali  Buie. For the series, the Bulldogs struggled to get things going on the  offensive end as they were held to seven runs for the entire series. The Alabama A&amp;M softball team took a major step in trying to earn a berth into the SWAC Tournament over the weekend with a series win at Jackson State. The Bulldogs took the first two games of the series, 11-9 and 10-6, before the Tigers salvaged game three, 3-2.
