A&M Cross Country Preview

Normal—Head track & field & cross country coach Kim Seals is set for her 15th year at the helm of the Alabama A&M men's and women's track teams.

The 2012 cross country squad has some "spectacular young ladies" according to coach Seals.

Expected to lead the team is senior Shaquina Phalo. She will be looking to win a SWAC championship in her final season.

“Phalo is hungry, working hard and is dedicated,” said Seals.

After being named All-SWAC her previous three years Phalo is hoping to add a fourth year honor as well as a title to her accomplishments. Seals mentioned the senior out of Gardendale, Alabama is doing all the right things, eating well, resting and hydrating, all in hopes of a first place finish.

Also returning for the Lady Bulldogs cross country team are Raven Dove and Michelle Scott.

“Raven and Michelle are two returnees who we will be counting on for top 10 finishes,” said Seals.

Newcomers Keanna McIntyre of Bellville, Illi. and Brianna Williams of Englewood, Ohio are also expected to make a positive impact on the 2012 team.

“Everyone on the team is working very hard in preparation for this upcoming season,” Seals quoted.

The Lady Bulldogs will begin preparations for their Southwestern Athletic Conference championship run at the University of Alabama this weekend on Sept. 1st, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
