Cross Country improves at second meet in Troy

Normal- The Lady Bulldogs Cross Country squad traveled to Troy, Ala. to participate in one of their final regular season meets before entering the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championships. The team will finish the regular season at the Crimson Classic hosted by the University of Alabama.

This weekend A&M competed and improved at the 2013 Coach "O" Invitational. Troy University hosted a six-team, two division 5k run. The meet included two Sun Belt Conference members (Troy, Georgia State), two SWAC members (A&M, Alabama State), and two NCAA Division II squads (Albany State and Tuskegee).

The Lady Bulldogs ran well, with each member helping to shave nearly two whole minutes off last meet's average time. A&M runners combine for a 23:12.89 average time, with Sophomore Keanna McIntyre lead the way once again.

McIntyre finished 21^st overall with a time of 22:00.85, missing a top 20 finish by just under nine-seconds. McIntyre was followed by freshman Ester Martinez (22:48.24), Raven Dove (22:56.68), Brianna Williams (22:58.79), Michelle Scott (25:19.88), and Chelsea Prather who wrapped things up with a time of 30.19.66.

The Maroon & White will close out the regular season on October 18, at the Crimson Classic, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
