Men’s Golf Finishes Eighth in ASU Spring Classic

PRATTVILLE, Ala. __ Alabama A&M men's golf saw their first action of the spring over the last two days, as they finished eighth with a final score of 782 in the Alabama State Spring Classic held at the Capital Hill Golf Course on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

The Bulldogs finished the tournament at 62-over par, six shots ahead of Maryland Eastern Shore. Meanwhile, the remainder of the field featured Arkansas-Pine Bluff (22-over), Evansville (35-over), Alabama State (35-over), Texas Southern (39-over), Savannah State (39-over), Chicago State (40-over) and Miles (41-over).

Alabama A&M a pair of golfers finish in the top 30, with Felipe Gomez Lopez (Bogota, Columbia) finishing tied for 22nd at 12-over (192), followed by Kim Byeongkwan (Won Ju, South Korea) tied at 29t at 15-over (195).
 
Meanwhile, Jason Johnson (Toledo, Ohio) finished just outside the mark, tied for 31st at 17-over (197), followed by Emilio Angel (Bogota, Columbia) in 46th at 30-over (210).

Alabama A&M returns to action on February 27 in Biloxi, Mississippi as they take part in the 2023 Gulf Coast Collegiate Invitational held at the Diamond Head Golf Course.
