Volleyball readies for championship run

NORMAL - The Alabama A&M volleyball team showcased its 2013 talent at the Maroon and White Scrimmage in front a great crowd at the T.M. Elmore Gymnasium on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

The team treated fans to free pizza and promotional materials before the event.

"I'd like to thank all of the fans who came out and supported us today," head coach Nedra Brown mentioned. "What a tremendous crowd we had here.

"I'm pleased with our kids and their effort and energy level while we were competing. I feel like there are some things we have to work on to get better, but I'm excited about our progress and where we are going. I look forward to playing next Friday."

A&M will open up the regular season on Friday, Aug. 30^th against the University of Southern California in West Lafayette, Ind., as part of the Purdue University Tournament.
