Amiah Simmons, who has led the Bulldogs in scoring in 11 games this season, was selected the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Player of the Week after averaging 18.5 points, 3.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game against FIU and Texas State. The Overland Park, Kan. native shot 55.2 percent (16-of-29) from the floor in a pair of losses.
 
Simmons poured in a season-high 23 points, on 9-of-16 shooting and 2-of-3 from the free throw line, along with three rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 63-52 loss to Texas State last Wednesday.
