Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Hampton Cove

The Northern gateway to the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, Hampton Cove is a public golf course located at 450 Old Highway 431, Owens Cross Roads, Alabama and offers some of the best golf scenery in the state.

Designed by renowned golf architect Robert Trent Jones, Hampton Cove features The Highlands, The River Course and the Short Course among the 54-hole championship level venue.

All three courses feature very different terrain with The Highlands emulating traditional Scottish links with thousands of Japanese black pines, oaks, dogwoods and crepe myrtles among rolling terrain and bent grass greens.

Laid out on former soybean fields in the flood plain of the Flint River, The River Course purports to have the third oldest black oak (250 years old) in the State of Alabama behind the 18th green and is the only RTJ layout in the world without a single bunker.

The Short Course, meanwhile, is open and links-like with water in play on 11 of the 18 holes. It also features a large double green accommodating the 10th and 17th holes.

Hampton Cove is one of just 11 RTJ designed courses in the State of Alabama and one of just two in North Alabama, providing some of the best golf in the region.
