The Alabama A&M men's basketball team got a career performance from Joe Martin with 18 points and a career-high 19 rebounds in a 69-59 home victory over Tuskegee. Nine of Martin's 19 caroms came on the offensive end of the court. He made 7-18 field goals on the night.
The Bulldogs built a 15-point halftime lead (37-22) pulling away late in the half. The Tigers would scrap their way back in the second half, pulling as close as four points at 63-59 with 1:23 to play. AAMU would score the final six points of the game to close out the victory.
Michael Ford and Obie Trotter added 14 and 11 points, respectively. Trotter also tallied seven steals. Marcus Jones dished out a team-high five assists.
Derrick Lowe led Tuskegee with 13 points.
