Career victory number 600 did not come easy for Alabama A&M head volleyball coach Betty Austin. The Bulldogs rallied for a 3-2 victory Friday at Jackson State to secure the legendary coach's spot in NCAA history. A&M won the fifth and decisive game 15-13. Austin becomes just the 14th Division I coach to reach the 600-win plateau. Austin, whose teams have won at least 15 matches in 21 straight seasons, moved to 6-12 overall and 4-1 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs are in action again Saturday at Alcorn State and return home Tuesday for a Halloween match with Alabama State. First serve Tuesday at T.M. Elmore Gymnasium is set for 7:00 p.m.
