Final Stats
Alabama A&M ended its regular season at home Sunday with a shut-out against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. With an impressive nine game winning streak, the Bulldogs showed no mercy on the Golden Lions posting a final score of 10-0.
Senior Priscilla Mensah scored the first goal for the Bulldogs seven minutes into play followed by another goal shortly after by teammate Ledile Matjekane. Belinda Kanda scored the last two goals for the half leaving the score 5-0.
With the lead, the Bulldogs continued to downpour on the Golden Lions posting 5 more goals in the half. Goalies Senior Perryn Johnson and Samantha Singleton did not allow a goal as a combined for three shots. Rachel Sepeng and Belinda Kanda each had three goals, Ledile Matjekane had two goal and Brittan Thomas had one goal.
Alabama A&M will be hosting the 2006 Women's Soccer SWAC Championships at home this year. Play begins November 2, 2006 through November 5,2006. Winning the East division 4-0 for the SWAC the Bulldogs will play in the semi-finals at 3:00 p.m. Friday for the chance to play in the Finals Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
