Columbus, Ohio - With three freshmen in the starting lineup, Alabama A&M struggled to just 37.8 percent shooting and committed 27 turnovers in the opening game of the season, an 86-47 loss to IUPUI in the first round of the BCA Classic. Evan Hilton was the only Bulldog to reach double figures hitting 6-9 from the field en route to a career-high 15 points.

IUPUI converted the 27 A&M turnovers into a 35-8 advantage in points off miscues. Mickell Gladness continued his shot blocking ways with three to open the season. Trant Simpson dished out three assists to lead A&M. The Bulldogs played seven freshmen in the game.

Alabama A&M will play Saturday vs. South Dakota State at 11:00 a.m.
