Cornelius Hester's break-away layup with just under 15 seconds remaining proved to be the difference as Alabama A&M defeated Tuskegee 59-57 at Elmore Gymnasium. The winning play was sparked on the defensive end the fifth Mickell Gladness blocked shot of the night, and Trant Simpson's 10th assist.
Alabama A&M shot just 36 percent from the field, but forced 23 turnovers and 18 poionts off those Tiger miscues. Tuskegee led 30-29 at the half and was paced by the hot shooting of Sean-Claude Terrell. Terrell scored 14 of his 16 points in the first half. Eric Wilson also scored 16 for the visitors.
Hester was the only Bulldog in double figures with 15. Gladness grabbed 11 rebounds as well.
