Nashville, Tenn. - The Bulldogs men's tennis team lost a hard-fought match to Lipscomb Saturday in Nashville. While Shingiray Nyagura scored the only point for the Bulldogs they yielded 1-6 score at the end of the day.

"This was a strong effort and I'm really pleased with a lot of what I saw tonight," commented coach Thomas Colvin. "We're farther along than where we were to start last season."

The doubles point was a compellingly contested couple of matches. A&M's #2 doubles team of Nyagura and Piggott played with ease and ample of energy as they successfully won their match with a score of 8-2. That kind of energy can sometimes carry an entire team." Some of that energy made its way to Mbandi and Muriuki as they got off to a slow start at #1 doubles, but came on strong to force a tie-break.

Lipscomb's #1 team was able to pull out the tie break at 8-7(7-4) and eventually acquired the doubles point. The singles matches were just as highly contested with 2 of the 6 singles going to a 3rd set super tie-break. The lone win for the Bulldogs came at #3 singles where Shingie Nyagura came back to win his match 6-7, 7-6, 10-8. "Shingie has been the most consistent player here since he arrived. He is always going to figure out a way to get it done."
