Fairfield, Ala. - Alabama A&M opened the baseball season with a 5-3 loss at Miles. Bryan Evans (pictured) finished the day 2-3 with a double at the plate to lead the Bulldogs. AAMU compiled seven hits on the afternoon. Three pitchers combined to give up four earned runs and 13 hits.

Joshua Swain took the loss on the mound, giving up two runs, both earned, in four innings on six Miles hits. Antoine Williams also gave up two earned runs, three in all, in three innings of work. Miles got seven hits off Williams. Bernard McKinney worked a perfect eighth inning with one strikeout.

Evans was the only Bulldog with a multiple hit game. Kevin Lovejoy and Denneth Townsend each drove in one run.
