Trotter Ties Career Steals Mark, A&M Snaps Skid 84-74 Over Alcorn

Not that he wasn't already there, but Obie Trotter planted himself in the career record book at Alabama A&M Monday with his 330th career steal, tying the school mark held by Desmond Cambridge. Trotter also scored 29 points to lead the Bulldogs to an 84-74 win over Alcorn State to break a three-game losing streak for A&M.

Michael Ford added 22 points and Marcus Jones 13 for the Bulldogs, now 9-12 overall and 7-7 in the SWAC. Joe Martin, the conference leader in rebounding, notched 10 boards. Trotter also pitched out five assists.

AAMU trailed by as many as 14 in the first half, but closed the stanza on an 18-4 run over the final 4:37 to tie the game at recess, 39-39. The Bulldogs then went on a 19-9 run midway through the second half to seal the game. Alcorn would get no closer than six in the final five minutes of the game.

Alabama A&M won the rebounding battle 37-33, and hit nearly 50 percent from the field.

Delvin Thompson led all scorers with 30 for the Braves on 11-17 shooting.
