Tallahassee, Fla. - Alabama A&M nearly pulled of its second improbable comeback in recent games Wednesday as the Bulldogs rallied from six runs down to take the lead late at Florida A&M. The rally fell short, however, as the Rattlers got two runs in the eighth and then held on in the ninth for a 10-9 victory over AAMU. LaDale Hayes continued his hot bat going 2-4 with two runs scored. He was 4-6 in Tuesday's first game of the series, won 18-13 by FAMU.
Wigberto Flores led the A&M offensive attack Wednesday going 2-4 with a double and two runs driven in. Christopher Lightner took the loss on the mound for A&M in the second game. Jeremy Reid took the loss in game one.
It was a Florida A&M rally in game one that proved to be the storyline. Alabama A&M stormed to an 11-4 lead only to be tied by a seven-run Rattler sixth. FAMU added four runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth to secure the win.
