Ragland Homer Leads to Baseball Split with Hornets

Montgomery, Ala. - Andrew Ragland's two-run home run in the second inning of the final game of a SWAC doubleheader helped lead Alabama A&M to a 10-7 victory Saturday over Alabama State. Ragland finished the game 2-4 with 2 RBI. The Hornets capitalized on 12 walks in game one to win 13-4.

Alex Cornwell pitched 5.1 innings giving up six earned runs, but got the offensive help he needed to pick up the victory in game two. Arthur Moore continued his impressive power numbers of the final games of the season, knocking his third home run in the past two weekends. Antoine Williams took the loss in game one for Alabama A&M.

The two teams will play the final game of the season Sunday in a 1:00 p.m. start.
