Game 2 Box Score
Alabama A&M won its first conference game of the season Saturday and looked in line to take its second and win the series Sunday against Alcorn as the Bulldogs staked a 6-0 lead in the first inning of game two. Alcorn's offense would answer though, and 14 straight Brave runs capped a 9-1 and 16-8 sweep by the visitors at the A&M Baseball Complex. Bernard McKinney collected three hits including a double in the nightcap for A&M. He also scored two runs.
The Bulldogs managed just four hits in the first game as Alex Cornwell pitched well giving up one earned run in five innings. The Braves scored three in the fifth and five in the sixth to salt the game.
Alabama A&M opened the second game on fire, scoring six runs on seven hits in the bottom of the first. Alcorn would strike back for two in the second, and A&M missed prime opportunities in the second and third leaving the bases loaded in each inning while only scoring one run.
The Braves would score the next 14 runs, building a 16-7 lead before giving up a final run to A&M in the last of the seventh.
