Bulldogs Run Out of Gas at Middle Tennessee

Aug. 29, 2006

Final Stats

Murfreesboro, Tenn. - A road weary bunch of Bulldogs put up a game effort Monday night taking a 1-0 late into the first half at Middle Tennessee State, but the Blue Raiders would wear down Alabama A&M for a 4-1 victory. The Bulldogs fresh off a 2:00 a.m. arrival on campus from Sunday's game in Tampa, Fla., hit the road 12 hours later for the trip to MTSU.

Mention that their two leading scorers from a year ago and this season's leading scorer were all on the sidelines, and you can understand why head coach Frank Davies was beaming in the first half with his team ahead on a Rachel Sepeng rebounder. Priscilla Mensah was electric in goal for 60 minutes making key saves to keep AAMU within striking distance.

MTSU's offensive pressure was finally enough to break the AAMU dam. The Blue Raiders scored late in the first period to tie the game and then twice early in the second half to salt the game.
