Montgomery, Ala. - Alabama A&M's volleyball team took the first step toward win number 600 for coach Betty Austin this season with a 3-0 win over Alabama State. Austin entered the season needing six victories to reach the milestone, and the Bulldogs fought a tough early schedule without any wins. That changed Friday as A&M swept past its rivals in the SWAC opener. The Bulldogs won convincingly 30-12, 30-14, 30-14. Brittani Lewis and Brittney Smith each had 10 kills to lead the Bulldogs.
