Win Against Jackson State Leaves Austin Four Away from 600th win

Alabama A&M beat the Jackson State Tigers 3-1, leaving them 2-0 in the conference Friday night in Elmore gym. Brittani Lewis and Brittany Sharp helped lead their team to victory Friday night, in Elmore gym posting 13 kills each. Sharp also had 35 attacks and four blocks, while Lewis had 28 attacks, seven assist and five blocks. Taking the first match, 30-29, the second, 31-29, the Bulldogs struggled in match three and succumbed to the Tigers 29-31, but came back in match four and posted a 30-23 victory sending the Tigers home with one more lost for the season. This win against the Tigers, now puts head coach Betty Austin four wins away from her milestone of 600 wins. Both Madinah Abdullah and Sharp had serving averages of .80 percent.
