Valiant Effort Falls Just Short for A&M Men's Soccer Team

Sept. 8, 2006

Final Stats

Columbia, S.C. - Still in shock from the news earlier this week of the death of goalkeeper Mlondi Mdluli, Alabama A&M's men's soccer team staged a valiant effort Friday in a 1-0 loss to Winthrop at the South Carolina tournament. The Bulldogs spent most of the week mourning and trying to gain more information on the auto accident in Africa that claimed their friend and teammate. Even still, the Bulldogs managed a 0-0 tie with Winthrop until a successful corner kick gave the Eagles the game's lone goal. Mdluli's replacement, Paul Musoke, was excellent in goal, capturing six saves in his first career start.
