Final Stats
Murray State, the top team in the Ohio Valley Conference, snapped Alabama A&M's five-game winning streak Monday 61-59 at Elmore Gymnasium. While the loss moved A&M's overall record to 9-7, the Bulldogs gave the favorites in the OVC all they could handle. Murray State is now 11-4 overall. Tamika Green and Chaymieyon Moss came off the bench to combine for 28 points and nine rebounds. Green finished with 18 to lead AAMU.
Moss gave the Bulldogs a two-point lead at the intermission with a layup at the 1:04 mark. AAMU led 29-27 at the break by forcing 14 turnovers. Of those 29 points, 21 came from the bench.
Murray State opened its largest lead of the game, a 55-50 edge with 1:56 to play. The Bulldogs would pull to within one at 59-58 with :11 remaining, but MSU would hit crucial free throws to seal the win. OVC preseason player of the year Joi Scott led the Racers with 19 points and nine rebounds.
