Jackson State Slides Past Bulldogs

Jan. 4, 2007

Final Stats

Preseason SWAC favorite Jackson State had four players in double figures Thursday, including 26 from Trey Johnson in posting a 68-52 road victory over Alabama A&M. The Bulldogs were led by freshman Jonathan Belt's 11 points and had another solid defensive performance from Mickell Gladness with nine rebounds and eight blocked shots.

Evan Hilton and Cornelius Hester each scored nine points, but A&M shot just 8-22 from the free throw stripe and got outrebounded 57-35.

The Bulldogs trailed 37-27 at the half and twice pulled within three points in the second half, but an 11-0 run by the Tigers midway through the second half was too much for A&M to overcome.
