Final Stats

Pine Bluff, Ark. - Alabama A&M suffered its seventh straight loss with another tight contest Monday at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Golden Lions, however, eked out a 52-45 victory that left the Bulldogs 5-10 overall and 0-4 in the SWAC. Cornelius Hester led A&M with 10 points. Jonathan Belt added 9. Mickell Gladness had seven points and five blocks. Julian Gladness grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

"Right now we are just giving our opponents too many opportunities by not taking care of the basketball," head coach Vann Pettaway said. "We have to take the wins with the losses, so we are going to keep working to get this thing turned around."

With the Bulldogs trailing by two with 1:45 to play, AAMU missed its final four shots from the field and committed two turnovers in crunch time. UAPB capitalized and hit key free throws down the stretch to ice the game.

UPAB trailed late in the first half, but rallied to take a 23-22 lead at the intermission.
