Oct. 2, 2007

Final Stats

Mongomery, Ala. - After a layoff of over two weeks, the Alabama A&M volleyball team took little time to shake off the rust Tuesday and sweep past rival Alabama State in the SWAC opener for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs capitalized on a balanced attack with five players having at least five kills, and no one with more than eight.

Brittani Lewis led A&M with eight kills. Madinah Abdulah and Devona Williams added six, and Kristyn Collins and Shondrell Clarke each had five. Natalie Rodriguez set 18 assists and led the team with four aces.

Alabama A&M is 1-0 in the SWAC and 2-5 overall.  The win snaps a five-game losing streak for the Bulldogs.
