Nov. 28, 2007

Final Stats

Memphis, Tenn. -

Katrich Williams kept up her stellar play early this season, but her 13 points and seven rebounds were not enough as Alabama A&M fell just short Wednesday night at Memphis, 81-72. The Bulldogs trailed 74-70 with 1:44 to play, but the Tigers scored their final five points from the free throw line to seal the victory.

A&M was plagued by poor free throw shooting and the Tigers crashing the boards.  The Bulldogs hit just 10-23 from the charity stripe, and Memphis owned a 53-40 advantage on the glass.  Both teams shot 40 percent from the field, but A&M hit just 2 of 16 from behind the three-point arc.

Ashleonte' Samuel pitched in with 12 points, and Alexis Faulk had 10 points on 5-8 shooting.

The loss drops Alabama A&M to 0-3 overall.  The Bulldogs will host Chattanooga on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in the home opener for the team.
