Bulldogs Fall to Central Arkansas in Coaches vs. Cancer Consolation

Nov. 7, 2007

Final Stats

Lexington, Ky. - Jabari Deshields had 20 points in only his second career game Wednesday, and Mickell Gladness had nine blocked shots, but Alabama A&M dropped a 69-59 decision to Central Arkansas in Rupp Arena.

The Bulldogs held a 27-26 halftime lead when LaNorris Smith knocked down a three-point basket as the buzzer sounded.  UCA, however, opened the second half with a burst to take the lead, and A&M was forced to play catch-up the rest of the game.

Deshields was a bright spot offensively for A&M. The freshman hit 7-9 from the field on his way to a career high 20 points. Evan Hilton was also in double figures with 11.

Gladness pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, but the Bulldogs were outrebounded 54-30 on the night.

The Bulldogs are now 0-2 on the season and open their home schedule Saturday vs. Oakwood at 7:30 p.m.
