Another Heartbreaking Loss for A&M

Montgomery, Ala. - Alabama A&M suffered another heartbreaking loss Saturday, a 74-70 decision at rival Alabama State. The Bulldogs trailed by as many as 11 in the first half, but clawed back to make the game a see-saw battle throughout the second half. A&M's biggest lead, a four-point spread, came with 13:05 remaining in the game. The Bulldogs were just 11-24 from the free throw line and dropped to 0-9 on the road this season. Trant Simpson had a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists.

Trailing 73-70, the Bulldogs had the ball with a chance to tie, but Johnnie Brown's three-point attempt hit the front iron and A&M was forced to foul with :03.6 remaining. Tahrea Jackson's free throw iced the game for the Hornets.

Cornelius Hester with 13 and LaNorris Smith with 10 were also in double figures for the Bulldogs. Mickell Gladness recorded four blocked shots.
