Final Stats
Alabama A&M put a quick end to its three-game losing streak Saturday with a smothering defensive effort and a 57-33 win over Texas Southern. The Bulldogs held the Tigers to just 11 second half points and 3-23 shooting. A&M led 31-22 at the half before blowing the game wide open in the second half. Two seniors were honored during their final home series in the victory. Tamika Green and Crystal Malone will play their final home game for A&M on Monday night.
The win was a complete team effort as no Bulldogs scored in double figures. Felicia Drummond and Christian Malone each had eight points to lead the team. Drummond grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.
The win keeps Alabama A&M in at least a tie for the SWAC lead with Jackson State. A&M is now 16-10 overall and 12-3 in the league.
