Earlier this season Alabama A&M scored its first-ever victory over Southern in the SWAC East/West Roundup. Saturday, the Bulldogs continued the trend and moved within one match victory of their first SWAC championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament with a 4-2 victory over the Jaguars. Alabama A&M will face off against Prairie View, which AAMU defeated 6-1 earlier in the season, at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday in the conference title match.

The Bulldogs dominated the doubles play sweeping both finished matches for the single team point.  Then the bottom of the A&M lineup came through as the four, five, and six singles players all scored victories to secure the team win.
