Final Stats

Baton Rouge, La. - Debra Borcherding had pitched a gem and was one strike away from a shutout and advancing Alabama A&M past the top seed and defending SWAC champions Mississippi Valley State in the second round of the SWAC Tournament before disaster struck. The worst possible scenario for the Bulldogs, a three-run home run with two outs and two strikes in the bottom of the seventh while leading 2-0, is exactly what took place. The Bulldogs will now play Arkansas-Pine Bluff in an elimination game at 3:30 p.m. Brandy Harrell had an RBI double to highlight the Bulldog offense.
