Alabama A&M's defense allowed Jackson State to shoot 54 percent from the field for the game, and the Tigers cruised to an 87-74 victory in the SWAC opener for both teams Saturday. The Bulldogs could get no closer than seven points in the second half. Trant Simpson led the way for A&M with 18 points.
The loss is the fifth-straight for A&M and leaves the Bulldogs at 3-8, 0-1 on the season.
