Bulldogs Defeat Jacksonville State 4-2

Huntsville, Ala. - The Alabama A&M Women's Soccer team is now riding a three game unbeaten streak as they defeated Jacksonville State 4-2 on Fri. Oct. 17 in Jacksonville, Ala. The Bulldogs now improve to 4-7-1 on the season and will face Eastern Kentucky at home on Fri. Oct. 24.

A&M struck first when Madelyn Pittman found the foot of Belinda Kanda for her sixth goal of the season. The Gamecocks responded at the 19:09 mark when Lindsay Boehmler scored a goal for the 1-1 tie. JSU scored again at the 31:41 mark to take a 2-1 advantage heading into intermission.

Christina Igono scored a goal in the opening minutes of the second period to knot the score at two. LeTisha Davis scored again off a penalty kick to give the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead. JSU did not have an answer as Joice Avila's goal in the 80th minute of play sealed the deal for A&M.

The Bulldogs will play at home on Fri. Oct 24 against Eastern Kentucky. The game is slated for 3 p.m.
