Same stuff, different day...so very appropriate as this time last year, the men's team was finally able to get a win against Mississippi Valley, and just like last year, it came down to the final match on the court. This year, first time player Bertaud Ngomsi delivered the final point in the win, A&M's first of the season.
"Much like last year, these guys didn't give up and didn't quit", said coach Thomas Colvin. "It wasn't a real pretty win, but we will gladly take it."
Each team fielded only 5 players, and each team won a doubles match, leaving no winner of the doubles point. Michael Turner was the first point for the Bulldogs with Stevon Walker following soon after. The Bulldogs lost the #2 and #3 singles before Ngomsi clinched his match and the win for the Bulldogs.
Earlier in the day, the Bulldogs fell to Jackson State, 7-0. Tomorrow, the men of A&M face Alcorn State at 11 a.m.
